Our history.
Part I The Initiation Period
I – 1990 – Luis Natividad, a close family friend from Seattle, Washington State US, brought some hatching materials (eggs) when he came back to the Philippines. From these eggs was born the initial interest in game cock fighting as a hobby. Breeds from these eggs were known as:
a. Black Mcrae was bred to Payton Hatch Grey, also from the US
b. Democrat Brood cock
From these materials started the success of breeding Black Mcrae crossed with Hatch Grey. Another close family friend, Nestor Razon of Calapan Mindoro, provided also a material that came from Mr. Payton of the USA It resulted from a unique combination of black and dark colors which later on became known as “Hiraw” and “Brown Red,” was “nick” further, and became the winning line in “hack fighting” in the community.
II – 1996 – Six years after when Luis came home, a business tour was organized in Michigan, USA to buy a precision instrument for industrial motor balancing and motor rewinding. While in the US, Luis took effort to invite and introduced to us some of his friends (Jim), an American Breeder. Mr. Jim Wright and Luis gave us the opportunity to see and participated in a local hack fight (like Tupada in the Philippines). We saw the good performance of their local breeds in their local tupada.
III – 2003 – Sometime in March, Luis came home again to the Philippines. He organized and attended together with WLO, hack fights, using the available stocks initially produced. Nineteen cocks were used to the local fights and had the following amazing results:
17 win (89%) 1 draw 1 lost
IV – 2003 – A month after his return to Philippines (April 2003), Luis went back to the US, but this time, he left all the breeding materials to Willy Jr. Willy carefully managed these stocks and got initial production success. Below are some materials produced:
a. Boston Roundhead (trio)
b. Lacy Roundhead (trio)
c. Albany (trio)
d. Joe Goode Grey (brood cock)
e. Garbazo Grey (brood cock)
f. Black Water 5000 Sweater (trio)
g. Bobby Marco Hatch Black (trio)
h. Sitsooner Dome (brood cock)
i. Pumpkin Claret (trio)
j. Pyle Roundhead (trio)
k. Henny Hatch Black (brood cock)
V – 2005 – Luis came back home again to the Philippines. He got back all his original stocks to start again his own breeding program.
VI – Willy Jr. also started his own breeding program out of the heads he produced from the initial stocks left to him by Luis. He then bought and added blood line DINK 5000 and GOLDEN BOY SWEATER, a trio from Red Farm of Edwin Arañez. He also bought another trio from Phoenix Firebird Game Farm in Bulacan, a Gilmore Hatch and Yellow Legged Hatch. Another new blood line was received from Nestor Razon, a Mangyan White (trio) and two brood hens of Liza Galore.
Part II A Sustained Interest that led to the establishment of a Farm
Willy Jr's interest in game fowl is now sustained. He envisioned the establishment of a farm for this purpose, as a source of business opportunity in the future (if managed properly) and a good venue to release stress and pressure from the daily grind.
A good stock and good land area is already available.
In August, 2010, a major decision to transfer the small farm in Bay, Laguna to Echague, Isabela was made. It was a father and sons great resolve. This determination was anchored on two important considerations: (a) the available stocks are pretty good starting point (more or less 300 heads); and (b) the land area in Echague, Isabela (approximately 10 ha.) are family owned, tenant free, and highly conducive to livestock, poultry and game fowl production. At the moment, three (3) families are working in the farm with focus on game fowl, with sideline attention to swine, few small and large ruminant animals (goat, cattle, buffalo) because they are already in the farm. Because of its far distance from home base, operation is through remote control, alternately done by the two (Willy Sr. & Willy Jr.).
